Poland to Croatia by car: the e‑vignettes for each way there

Poland sells no e‑vignette: some motorway sections charge at a toll station or through the e-TOLL app, and the rest are free. South of the border there are two lines to Croatia, through Czechia, Austria and Slovenia or through Slovakia and Hungary, and they share not one e‑vignette.

Three e‑vignettes, Czech, Austrian and Slovenian, on motorway most of the way from the Gorzyczki crossing near Ostrava down to Zagreb. The Austrian stretch runs from Drasenhofen past Vienna and over the Wechsel to Graz with no tunnel toll on it, and Slovenia is barely an hour from Spielfeld to the Croatian border, though its shortest e‑vignette still lasts seven days.

Through Slovakia and Hungary

The drive

Two e‑vignettes, Slovak and Hungarian, and no Austrian or Slovenian one at all. From Kraków the road crosses into Slovakia at Chyżne, follows the R1 past Banská Bystrica and Zvolen towards Šahy, and in Hungary runs round Budapest onto the M7 along Lake Balaton to Letenye, where the Croatian A4 starts towards Zagreb. More of the Slovak part is ordinary road, which is slower but needs no e‑vignette: the Slovak one covers only motorways and expressways.

Costed for a return trip that leaves one day and comes back 7 days later, so the destination is covered for all 8 calendar days and every country on the way is crossed twice. A longer stay moves a country to a longer e‑vignette and changes the total: the planner works out your own dates.
