Road charges in Czechia
Yes. Vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes need a vignette for Czech motorways. It has been fully electronic since 2021: no sticker, just your licence plate in the register.
Motorcycles are exempt in Czechia and need no vignette.

What we do not cover
Vehicles over 3.5 t use the separate Czech electronic toll system. Motorcycles need no vignette at all.
Questions drivers ask
What is the fine for driving without a vignette?
Up to 20,000 koruna in administrative proceedings, and up to 5,000 koruna if it is settled on the spot (eDálnice and the public administration portal, checked 29 August 2026). Claiming an exemption you do not qualify for is treated far more seriously, at up to 100,000 koruna.
Is an electric car exempt?
Yes. A vehicle running only on electricity or hydrogen needs no Czech vignette at all. A CNG or LNG vehicle pays a reduced eco rate of 1,280 koruna a year, and a car emitting at most 50 g of CO2 per kilometre pays 640 koruna (eDálnice, checked 29 August 2026). LPG does not qualify for either.
Can I get the eco rate through you?
No. We sell the standard rate only, so if your car qualifies for the eco price or for the exemption above, you are better off buying at the official shop or buying nothing at all. Paying our standard price for a car that Czechia charges 640 koruna a year would be a poor trade.
How far ahead can I set the start date?
Up to three months after the day you pay, and that applies to the 1-day, 10-day, 30-day and annual products alike (the public administration portal, checked 29 August 2026). A summer holiday can therefore be paid for in the spring, which is not true everywhere: Slovenia stops at 30 days.
Who checks, and how would they know?
Czech police and the Customs Administration, using camera systems on the charged sections that read plates against the register, remote checks at control gates, and inspections at rest areas. A photograph is taken only when a violation is detected, and it is deleted once the period for proceedings has passed (eDalnice, checked 29 August 2026).
Do motorcycles need a Czech vignette?
No, and the reason is worth knowing: the charge is written for vehicles with at least four wheels, which leaves two-wheelers outside it rather than merely discounted. Riding through Czechia costs nothing in vignettes. Anyone selling you a Czech motorcycle vignette is selling you something that does not exist.
