Everything clear before you set off

Via the Kufstein crossing, Innsbruck, the Brenner pass, Bolzano and Verona.

You need 1 e‑vignette, Austrian.

€21.75

Italy has no e‑vignette: its motorway tolls are paid at the toll booth, and we do not sell those.

Costed for a return trip that leaves one day and comes back 7 days later, so the destination is covered for all 8 calendar days and every country on the way is crossed twice. A longer stay moves a country to a longer e‑vignette and changes the total: the planner works out your own dates.

The countries you cross, in order

  • Germany

No vignette and no motorway tolls for cars.

  • Austria

10-day e‑vignette, covering the 2 days you are in the country

    €21.75
  • Italy

Motorway tolls are charged per section and paid at toll stations or by transponder.

No vignette is needed in Germany. Italy charges tolls on the road instead of a vignette.

Tolls the e‑vignette does not cover

the Brenner motorway
The A13 from Innsbruck to the Italian border charges its own toll at the barrier, on top of the e‑vignette.

These are paid at the barrier on the day and are not part of the total above.

The drive

The Austrian leg is only 120 kilometres and it costs twice. The e‑vignette covers the A12 from Kufstein to Innsbruck, and the A13 over the Brenner then charges its own toll at the barrier on top, because it is a section toll route rather than an e‑vignette road. Italy takes over at the pass with a ticket on the A22, paid when you leave near Verona.
