Croatia
Motorway tolls are charged per section and paid at toll stations or by transponder.
No vignette is needed in Belgium and Germany. Croatia charges tolls on the road instead of a vignette.
Tolls the vignette does not cover
- the Bosruck tunnel
- The A9 Pyhrn motorway charges its own toll for the Bosruck tunnel between the Spital/Pyhrn and Ardning junctions, on top of the vignette.
- the Gleinalm tunnel
- The A9 Pyhrn motorway charges its own toll for the Gleinalm tunnel between the St. Michael and รbelbach junctions, on top of the vignette.
These are paid at the barrier on the day and are not part of the total above.
The drive
About 1,700 kilometres, and the one charge that grows with distance is at the far end. Belgium and Germany charge a car nothing, Austria and Slovenia are fixed-price vignettes plus the two tunnel tolls on the Pyhrn motorway, and Croatia's A1 from Zagreb to Split is ticketed and paid when you leave it. Croatia plans to change that on 1 March 2027, when its motorways move to barrier-free tolling read from the plate (Croatian Government, checked 24 September 2026).
