Everything clear before you set off

Via Graz, Klagenfurt, Villach, the Tarvisio crossing and Udine.

You need 1 e‑vignette, Austrian.

€21.75

Italy has no e‑vignette: its motorway tolls are paid at the toll booth, and we do not sell those.

Costed for a return trip that leaves one day and comes back 7 days later, so the destination is covered for all 8 calendar days and every country on the way is crossed twice. A longer stay moves a country to a longer e‑vignette and changes the total: the planner works out your own dates.

Motorway tolls are charged per section and paid at toll stations or by transponder.

The drive

Going out through Tarvisio rather than the Brenner keeps this drive on one e‑vignette and no barriers at all inside Austria. The A2 south from Vienna through Graz and Klagenfurt carries no section toll, unlike the A10 through the Tauern tunnels or the A13 over the Brenner. Italy starts charging at Tarvisio, on a ticket collected before Venice.
