Everything clear before you set off

Via the Walserberg crossing at Salzburg, Linz and St Pölten.

You need 1 e‑vignette, Austrian.

€21.75

Costed for a return trip that leaves one day and comes back 7 days later, so the destination is covered for all 8 calendar days and every country on the way is crossed twice. A longer stay moves a country to a longer e‑vignette and changes the total: the planner works out your own dates.

The countries you cross, in order

  • Germany

No vignette and no motorway tolls for cars.

  • Austria

10-day e‑vignette, covering the 8 days you are in the country

    €21.75

No vignette is needed in Germany.

The drive

Four hundred and thirty kilometres, one e‑vignette, no barriers. The A1 West motorway runs from Salzburg to Vienna entirely on the e‑vignette, and the separate tolls people associate with Austria all sit on the roads heading south: the Tauern tunnels on the A10 and the Brenner on the A13. Neither is on this drive.
