The drive
Two vignettes on the fastest route, and the obvious way to save one costs time. Going west to Katowice and south through Ostrava and Brno needs a Czech vignette and a Slovak one, though the first Slovak kilometres, from the Brodské crossing to Kúty, are temporarily exempt (eZnamka section list, checked 24 September 2026). The road over the Chyżne crossing and down the Orava valley to the D1 stays in Slovakia and needs only the Slovak vignette; it is shorter on the map and slower on the road.
