The drive
Almost all of this drive is Romanian, close to 500 of its 540 kilometres, and the rovinieta is needed from the first of them. The Porubne to Siret crossing, which Ukraine's border service lists as open, leads straight onto the DN2, a national road rather than a motorway, and Romania charges on those too, so there is no free way south through Suceava. The rovinieta is linked to the plate, so enter the registration exactly as it appears on the car's documents.
