Which Slovak charge does a motorhome, caravan or trailer need?
A two-track M1 motorhome pays the vignette whatever its permitted weight, which keeps a heavy camper off the distance toll. A caravan or trailer needs a second vignette against its own plate once the car's permitted weight and the trailer's together pass 3.5 tonnes.
An M1 motorhome stays on the vignette at any weight
eZnamka charges two-track motor vehicles of category M1 regardless of their maximum technically permissible weight (checked 2 September 2026). A five-tonne camper registered as M1 therefore buys a vignette rather than opening an account on the distance-based toll for lorries.

A trailer needs its own vignette above 3.5 tonnes combined
Add the car's maximum technically permissible weight to the trailer's. If the two together come to more than 3.5 tonnes, an M1 or N1 vehicle towing an O1 or O2 trailer owes a vignette for the trailer as well as for the car, each against its own registration number (eZnamka types and prices, checked 2 September 2026).
Below that combined figure the trailer needs nothing, which is why a small box trailer behind a hatchback changes no decision. A 2.2 tonne estate with a 1.5 tonne caravan is over the line and needs two.
Do the addition from the two registration documents rather than from the loaded weight on the day.
