Czech vignette validity: when each e-vignette starts and ends
When does a Czech e-vignette start and stop being valid?
A Czech e-vignette starts on the date you choose. The 1-day product ends at midnight that day, the 10-day and 30-day products include the start date as day one, and the annual product covers 365 consecutive days.
The four validity periods
Czechia sells 1-day, 10-day, 30-day and annual e-vignettes. Each period runs by calendar date rather than by the hour you first enter a motorway (eDálnice payment terms, checked 31 August 2026).
A 1-day e-vignette bought for an evening drive still expires at 23:59:59 that night. Cover the next calendar day as well if the journey continues after midnight.
You can choose a future start date
The selected start can be up to 30 days after payment for every Czech e-vignette duration (eDálnice payment terms valid from 1 July 2025, checked 31 August 2026). Set the date to the first day on which you expect to use a charged motorway, not the day you leave home in another country.
Before validity begins, eDálnice lets the buyer move the start within that 30-day limit. Keep the payment confirmation and its authorisation code so you can manage the record if the trip moves.
Check the register before you drive
The official eDálnice validity checker needs the vehicle's country of registration and licence plate. It shows whether the vehicle has a valid e-vignette or a recorded exemption, so it is more reliable than looking for an email or a windscreen sticker.
Run that check after purchase and again before a later return journey. Buy another period only if the register does not cover the dates you need.
