The Czech vignette is needed from the moment you join the D1 outside Prague, not from the border, because it covers motorways rather than a crossing. Austria follows at Mikulov and Slovenia at Spielfeld, both plate-linked and both bought in advance. The Croatian half of the drive, from Macelj to Dugopolje, is paid at barriers on the day.
