How the Slovak e-vignette works

The central records of vignette payments hold the vehicle's registration number, its country of registration and the type and validity of the vignette paid (eZnamka payments and records, checked 2 September 2026). The confirmation you receive is a copy of that entry, not the entitlement itself.

This means a lost email costs nothing and a printed sheet on the dashboard proves nothing. Enforcement reads the register.

Check the plate and the country of registration on the confirmation the moment it arrives.

A correction of the registration number or the country of registration must be requested no later than the end of the calendar day on which the payment was made, or before the vignette's validity starts. At a staffed point of sale the window is 15 minutes from payment, and the staff make the correction there (eZnamka data correction, checked 2 September 2026).

After that window the request goes through the web portal, by post or in person and can still be made within the vignette's validity, but it is decided rather than granted, and eZnamka may ask a vehicle register to confirm that the wrong plate does not exist. That late route explicitly excludes 1-day vignettes, so on the shortest product the first window is the only one.

A vehicle that keeps its identity but gets a new registration number, after a move or a re-registration, uses the data amendment process instead. The vignette, its type and its validity stay as they are and only the number and country change (eZnamka data amendment, checked 2 September 2026).

Bring both registration certificates to that request. A vignette still cannot move to a different vehicle, which is the case the amendment process does not cover.
