Lake Garda is reached from the north on the A22, which runs down from the Brenner through Trento to Affi. The Austrian part of the drive is short and unavoidable: a vignette for the Inntal motorway, then the Brenner toll at the barrier. Drivers who make this trip every summer should price Austria's two-month vignette against two ten-day ones before deciding.
