Yes. Slovenian motorways and expressways require an e-vinjeta for vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes, including foreign-registered ones. It is digital and linked to your licence plate.
There is no 1-day option. The shortest Slovenian vignette is 7 days, which matters if you are only transiting the country.
Slovenia classifies cars by HEIGHT, not weight. Under 1.3 m above the front axle is class 2A; above it is class 2B, at roughly double the price. Most campervans and high motorhomes fall into 2B.

We sell class 2A and motorcycle vignettes. Class 2B (vehicles over 1.3 m at the front axle, which includes most campervans) is not yet available through our service, and vehicles over 3.5 t use the separate distance-based DarsGo system.
300 euro. Using a tolled road without a valid e-vinjeta is an offence under the Road Tolling Act, and the amount is fixed rather than scaled to the distance you drove: one junction costs what a fortnight of driving costs (DARS, checked 29 August 2026). Buy before the border rather than after it.
No. A Slovenian e-vignette cannot be transferred to another registration number, and if the number held in the system is not the number on the car, the toll counts as unpaid however much you paid. Buy a second one for the correct plate, then ask DARS for a proportional refund of the first, less a 6 euro fee. Weekly and monthly vignettes are excluded from that refund entirely (DARS, checked 29 August 2026).
No. The Karavanke tunnel from Austria sits outside the e-vignette, and every crossing in a vehicle up to 3.5 tonnes is paid separately at the Hrušica toll booth: 9 euro for a car (DARS, checked 29 August 2026). Budget for it in both directions if you are coming down from Villach.
The 7-day vignette, because nothing shorter exists: an hour on a Slovenian motorway costs what a week of them costs. The alternative is to stay off the tolled network altogether, since the charge applies to motorways and expressways only and the parallel main roads are free. Expect that to add a good deal of time to a transit.
Up to 30 days. The start date can be set to any day within 30 days of the purchase (DARS, checked 29 August 2026), so a trip a month away can be paid for now and a summer holiday booked in spring cannot. Note the date you choose, because that is the day the clock starts whether you travel or not.
Yes. A motorcycle is class 1 and needs a vignette of its own; a car vignette in the same household does not cover the bike. The shortest option is the same 7 days as for cars, and there is no monthly product for riders. The step above a week is a 6-month vignette, which covers a full riding season.
