The drive
The Slovak vignette is charged by road class, not by border. It applies to the D motorways and the R expressways, and the ordinary first-class roads that link them through the mountains are free, so a driver who leaves the R1 south of Banská Bystrica leaves the charge behind as well. Most people stay on the expressway, and then the vignette is needed for both days.
