How the Czech electronic vignette works

The official record holds the registration country, licence plate, fuel category, vignette duration and validity dates. Enforcement cameras compare the plate they read with that record, so a payment confirmation with the wrong plate does not cover the vehicle.

Choose the duration and date in the Czech e-vignette options, then read the plate back character by character before paying.

The state e-shop asks for the registration country and plate, fuel type, vignette type, start date and contact details before payment (eDálnice, checked 31 August 2026). The confirmation is evidence of what was entered, not a substitute for a correct register entry.

Keep the confirmation and authorisation code. Use the official validity checker after the record is created rather than assuming that a completed card payment covered the right vehicle.

Before validity starts, eDálnice allows one change to the plate and country of registration. During validity, it allows one correction of up to two plate characters and the registration country, subject to the official conditions (eDálnice, checked 31 August 2026).

A genuine plate replacement for the same vehicle has its own notification route. A vignette cannot simply be transferred to another vehicle, so use the management page for a typo and the plate-change form for a replaced plate.
