The Swiss vignette for motorcycles
Does a motorcycle need a Swiss vignette?
Yes. A motorcycle on a Swiss motorway or expressway needs the same vignette as a car, at the same price, and Switzerland sells it only as an annual. A sidecar or a trailer towed by a motorcycle needs no vignette of its own.
One vignette, one length, the car's price
BAZG's directive lists motorcycles among the light vehicles that owe the motorway charge, alongside cars, vans and motorhomes. There is no motorcycle rate and no short option: the vignette runs for the vignette year, from 1 December to 31 January of the year after its own.

Where the sticker goes on a motorcycle
A bike has no windscreen for the adhesive vignette, so the directive asks for an accessible part of the motorcycle that cannot easily be exchanged. Riding with the sticker on a part that comes off easily is an offence under the directive: the rider is fined and has to buy another vignette on the spot.
Where the bike has no such part, BAZG tolerates the sticker on a copy of the vehicle registration document carried with it. Either way the sticker is valid only for the vehicle it was stuck to and cannot be peeled off and moved.
Stick it to a fixed part of the bike rather than a panel or screen that unbolts, or buy the e-vignette and have nothing to stick at all.
The e-vignette is registered to the plate
The e-vignette is recorded against the licence plate, so the question of where to put it does not arise and there is nothing to lose from a bike parked in the open. Enter the plate exactly as it reads on the motorcycle.
Sidecars and motorcycle trailers pay nothing
A car's trailer needs its own vignette in Switzerland. A motorcycle's does not: the directive lists trailers towed by motorcycles, and sidecars, among the vehicles exempt from the charge.
Buy one vignette for the bike, whatever it carries or tows.
