Yes. Vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes need an e-vignette to use Slovak motorways and expressways. It is digital and tied to the licence plate.
Motorcycles are out of scope in Slovakia because the charge applies to two-track vehicles only. If you are riding, you need nothing and should not buy anything, here or anywhere else.
Slovakia introduced a 1-day vignette on 1 August 2024, and the calendar-year vignette was discontinued at the same time, so short transits no longer require the 10-day product.

Vehicles over 3.5 t use Slovakia's separate electronic toll system rather than a vignette, with one exception: a two-track M1 vehicle, which includes a heavy motorhome registered as a passenger vehicle, pays the vignette whatever it weighs. Motorcycles need no vignette at all.
Because the charge is written for two-track vehicles, so a motorcycle falls outside it rather than qualifying for a cheaper rate (eZnamka, checked 29 August 2026). There is no Slovak motorcycle vignette to buy at any price. If a site offers you one, it is selling something that does not exist.
Only if the two permitted weights together come to more than 3.5 tonnes. Add the car's maximum permitted weight to the trailer's, taking both from the registration documents rather than from the loaded weight on the day. Below that figure the car and its trailer count as one combination, covered by the vignette on the car's plate; above it the trailer owes a vignette of its own, against its own registration number (eZnamka, checked 2 September 2026). Switzerland is the country to watch on the way, because it charges a trailer in its own right at any weight.
A vignette, if it is registered in category M1. Slovakia charges two-track M1 vehicles whatever their permitted weight, so a heavy motorhome registered as a passenger vehicle stays on the vignette rather than moving to the distance-based toll (eZnamka, checked 29 August 2026). Check the category on the registration document before you assume the toll applies.
Up to 60 days from the day you buy. That limit was 13 days until the current vignette edition raised it (eZnamka, checked 29 August 2026), so a trip two months out can be paid for now. Choose the date carefully: it runs from the day you name whether you travel or not.
Enforcement is run by the National Motorway Company together with the police under Act 488/2013 on Vignette. Either the driver or the vehicle's operator is pursued, never both for the same month. The driver's offence carries 100 to 500 euro, or 50 to 200 euro settled on the spot; the operator instead receives an order for 150 euro, which can rise to 500 euro if it is contested and upheld. These amounts are set in the Act itself rather than on the eZnamka website (Act 488/2013, checked 2 September 2026).
Sometimes, and the window is short. A staffed point of sale puts it right on the spot within 15 minutes of payment. Otherwise the request must reach eZnamka by the end of the calendar day you paid, or before the vignette's validity starts. Later than that it goes through the web portal or by post and is decided rather than granted, and that late route excludes 1-day vignettes altogether, so on the shortest product the first window is the only one (eZnamka, checked 2 September 2026). Until it is corrected the vignette belongs to the characters as entered.
