Slovenian e-vignettes for motorcycles: class 1
Which e-vignette does a motorcycle need in Slovenia?
A class 1 e-vinjeta. DARS puts every single-track vehicle, meaning a track up to 50 centimetres wide, in class 1 and sells it in three lengths: 7 days, 6 months and a year. There is no monthly e-vignette for a motorcycle.
Class 1 is decided by track width
DARS defines class 1 as single-track motor vehicles, and counts as single-track any vehicle whose track is up to 50 centimetres wide. An ordinary motorcycle is class 1. A three-wheeler or quad with its wheels set wider apart than that is not.
If your vehicle is borderline, measure the track from one outer edge to the other, as DARS suggests, or use the toll class check on the DARS e-vignette site before you buy.
Three lengths, and the 6-month is for riders only
The 7-day e-vignette counts its start date as the first day and is valid until midnight on the seventh. It is the one to buy for a single ride through to Croatia or Italy.
The 6-month motorcycle e-vignette runs to the end of the same date six months later, and DARS sells it for class 1 alone. It takes the place of the monthly e-vignette cars can buy, and covers a spring-to-autumn riding season.
The annual e-vignette ends at the end of the same date a year later. Choose it over the 6-month only if you ride in Slovenia across more than half the year.
