The Slovak e-vignette (eZnámka)

Yes. Vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes need an e-vignette to use Slovak motorways and expressways. It is digital and tied to the licence plate.

Motorcycles are out of scope in Slovakia because the charge applies to two-track vehicles only. If you are riding, you need nothing and should not buy anything, here or anywhere else.

Slovakia introduced a 1-day vignette on 1 August 2024, and the calendar-year vignette was discontinued at the same time, so short transits no longer require the 10-day product.

Otázky, ktoré si vodiči kladú

How do I buy this vignette online?

Confirm the licence plate and registration country, then choose one of Slovakia's four lengths, from a single day to a full year. Pay by card and we register the e-vignette with eZnamka. We only confirm it is active once that registration is done, never before.

Which length suits a single crossing?

The 1-day vignette, introduced on 1 August 2024 specifically for this case (eZnamka, checked 29 August 2026). Before it existed the shortest option was 10 days, so a single transit meant paying for a length you did not need.

How far ahead can I set the start date?

Up to 60 days before you travel, a limit eZnamka raised from 13 days under the current vignette edition (checked 29 August 2026). Pick the date carefully: it runs from the day you name whether you actually travel that day or not.

Does the length I buy change how a mistyped plate gets fixed?

Yes, for the 1-day. Every other length can still be corrected by post or web portal after the same-day window closes, but that later route excludes 1-day vignettes altogether (eZnamka, checked 2 September 2026), so check the plate before paying rather than after.
